We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Vijeth Iyengar to the Vayah Vikas family as an Advisor. As the Director of Global Aging at AARP, Dr. Iyengar brings a wealth of experience, insight, and heart to our mission of creating a more age-inclusive India.

A cognitive neuroscientist by training, Dr. Iyengar leads AARP’s global efforts to champion the well-being, innovation, and inclusion of people aged 50 and above. His work spans research, policy, and partnerships that make a real difference in the lives of older adults around the world.

Before joining AARP, Dr. Vijeth Iyengar served in the U.S. Government across three presidential administrations — shaping national policies that supported older Americans. His roles included advising the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, leading brain health initiatives, and authoring the U.S. report for the UN’s Madrid Plan on Ageing.

His contributions have been recognized by prestigious fellowships and platforms, including the Aspen Ideas Festival, Brookings, the Council on Foreign Relations, and more. Today, he continues to serve as a Salzburg Global Fellow, a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council, and an Advisor to Ashoka’s New Longevity Initiative.

We’re deeply grateful to have Dr. Iyengar’s guidance as we grow. His understanding of aging and his global perspective will help us shape services that truly resonate with older adults across India, not just in theory, but in practice.

Together, we’re building a future where aging is celebrated, not sidelined. A future where every older adult is seen, heard, and supported.

Welcome aboard, Dr. Vijeth Iyengar! We’re excited for what lies ahead!
